OLAN RESTAURANT THRISSUR

Like so many restaurants in Kerala, when you climb the stairs to access the entrance, you encounter an unpleasant, putrid smell and leaves a poor impression. It’s better once you enter. We were given a limited menu and ordered from that. Meanwhile we saw other tables being served items not featured in the menu that we would have preferred. Upon questioning we were told that they were short staffed and hence wanted to limit ordering options. We ordered the pidiyum beefum & kozhiyum (rice balls in a coconut gravy with a beef and chicken side); these were delicious.. The neymeen tawa fry was alright but overpriced given the size. Incidentally the portion sizes generally were small. The dessert, navarassa murukk ice cream was average and wouldn’t recommend it. Also for a restaurant that positions itself as offering “A Taste of Kerala”, it doesn’t make any sense to offer a Chinese menu. It totally dilutes the image and they are better off sticking to the local cuisine. Overall a positive experience but could do with increased portion sizes.

Tried different dishes, the excellent was sadhya. We all liked it much. Beef biriyani (kizhi) could have been a lil better. A lil bit delay in service we felt as it took approx 30 minutes or more to get the food served. I'm visiting for the 5th time. Service needs to be improved. Huge delay in serving things. May be running short of staff but it need to addressed ASAP

I had the pleasure of dining at Olan, a Kerala restaurant that also serves amazing North Indian dishes—and I was thoroughly impressed. I visited for evening tea, dinner, and breakfast, and each meal was a treat. The evening tea was perfectly brewed and paired with delicious snacks that hit the spot. Dinner was a delightful mix of Kerala flavors and North Indian classics, all cooked to perfection. And breakfast the next morning was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. What truly stood out was the service—every staff member was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Their friendliness added a personal touch that made the experience even better. Highly recommend Olan if you're looking for great food and wonderful hospitality!

The food is flavourful and the seafood was fresh as well.It is very well priced for the quantity they provide. The service staff is also very prompt and well trained. Will definitely be going back with a larger group to try the other dishes they have to offer

It was an unexpected visit to this restaurant. Just enter for an evening tea and had a blast.. we enjoyed all the food especially our little one she enjoyed the porotta and butter chicken. Price was reasonable and i waited 2 days to write the which I always does..
